I’ve been absent during March because I have been having a good run in the writing of the sequel to Children of the Manse which takes the four adopted Luchs kids through the turmoil and perils of adolescence.  Betty Jean Lifton, one of the most influential voices in any discussion of adoption, died last November at the age of 84.  She was one of the most important figures in my own thinking about adoption even though at times I disagreed with her.  I will begin a new series of blogs in April that I am calling, “A Dialogue with Betty Jean Lifton.”
